The Islanders are playing their Eastern Conference rival Washington Capitals.
Who has won the Stanley Cup?
Carolina has won four Stanley Cups, including two since 1990, including the Presidents Cup in 1993 and the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2005.
The Isles won their first three Stanley Cups in the early 1990s, and then won the Cup in 2000.

The series will be played on NBCSN and TVAway, with the Penguins at home and the Islanders on the road.
The two teams will play each other in the first two rounds, and the teams will face off in the third round.
In the fourth round, each team will play a pair of best-of-five series.
The first will be a best-on-best, with a best of five in the second and a best game in the final.
Each team will face the other four times before the Stanley Final.
The series is not eligible for the Stanley Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the team with the best record in the conference.
