The National Review has been a bit of a thorn in the side of Donald Trump since he took office.
Its editorial staff has criticized his immigration policies on numerous occasions, particularly his plans to limit legal immigration.
Now, as the Trump administration ramps up its enforcement efforts, the publication is taking a hard line on the president.
But it’s not the first time the conservative publication has come out against the president’s policies.
In fact, it was only after the president first proposed cutting legal immigration that the National Right to Work Legal Defense Fund issued a statement condemning the plan.
It argued that Trump was using the executive orders he signed in January to target immigrants and would have “no effect on jobs and wages.”
Now, the National Council of La Raza is criticizing the president for his new immigration policy.
“The President’s proposed crackdown on legal immigration is both reckless and immoral, and his proposal will drive up wages and put millions of undocumented immigrants out of work,” the group said in a statement released Tuesday.
“While the president has promised to reduce the numbers of immigrants entering the United States, his plan is neither a credible plan nor a sensible policy.”
